    Hello,
My name is Mike Bartosiak. I am the EHS&S coordinator at my facility. We package a lot of small parts for movement throught out the facility. I use a lot of POLY and BarePOLY packaging one time and it goes in the trash. I am looking for a way to get this recycled instead of it going to the land fill. We recycle metals, woodedn pallets, and corrugated. Why is it so hard to fine a use for this. none of my waste wendors has been abel to help. any thought from this community?

Hi MIke! We use a lot of poly to package different printed materials, so, we have quite a bit of waste as well. We have had no problem getting our recycling company to take this for us. We do have to separate it from other plastics, since it is a 'soft' plastic. I don't know how large of an area you are in, but I'm in Davenport, IA, which isn't HUGE by any means. Plastic, including our poly materials, was one of our first things to have recycled. I'm surprised your recycling company doesn't deal with plastics. Have you discussed it with them? Is it feasible for you to separate the poly out from other recyclables?
